Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 26^th October Harrison & Hetherington held its fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Auction Mart. The change in weather saw no change in the trade at Harrison and Hetherington.  Following on from the suckled calf sales younger cattle look as dear as ever especially for quality. Bigger stores were also easy sold on the back of the current strong finishing trade.  In between and weathered stores maybe the only type harder to shift on the fortnight.  Bullocks topped at £1200 for an 11 month old Limousin from Messrs Burgess, The Bush.  The same home also had a Limousin heifer at £1200 and an Aberdeen Angus bullock at £1140.  Shapely younger cattle topped at 302.6ppk from Messrs Fitzsimon, Tregallon.  This was for a sweet heifer with its partner making 283 ppk. The same home also had Limousin bullocks up to 270ppk.  The next sale at Lockerbie is in two weeks time, 9^th November.  Please be sure to enter your cattle with Auctioneers to harness a good trade for yourself.
