On Thursday 4th November at Lazonby Mart, Harrison & Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of store lambs.
A total of 895 stores were presented to a strong ringside of buyer looking to purchase both long and short keep lambs. Topping the sale was a pen of Beltex lambs from regular supporters Mr M Faulder selling to £115. Texels topped at £113 for a pen from TA Hall, Harsley Farm.
Mules were a serious trade with premiums being paid for lambs with good meat coverage. The top price in this section was a strong pair from GH & A Walton & Sons, Farnbury selling for £98.
GT Birkett Ltd sold a run of 103 Mules to £90, with Swaledales taking a rise on the fortnight with Messrs JT Green, Hill Farm selling to £66.
The next store lamb sale at Lazonby will take place on the 18th November.
