Borderway Calf Sale

On 10th November Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with a much larger show of 390 forward.  Trade being far sharper for stronger and good quality continentals.  Bull calves being a fantastic trade.  Topping todays sale at £565 for a cracking British Blue bull from regular consignor Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown.  This fantastic run of 24 Blue calves sold to average £503.  Heifers sold to a top of £465 on 3 occasions, twice from Messrs Fisher and once from Messrs McKie, Wedholme, Messrs Heron, Eastfield sold a run of fantastic Angus calves to a top of £425 for two.  Black and whites sold to a top of £260 for Friesians from Messrs Harrington, Mounsey Bank and also Messrs McDougal, Heathfield.  Many customers still remain present for calves 2 months and older however younger calves are starting to ease with the time of year.
