On Wednesday 17th November Harrison & Hetherington had 1289 forward cattle at their weekly sale comprising of an entry of 530 Store Cattle, 246 Un-entered store bulls and weanlings and 373 Calves and 140 dairy cattle in the monthly Border & Lakeland Sale.

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 17th November Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 530 store cattle.  Another fantastic number of cattle forward at Borderway this week with a trade well beyond vendors expectations.  A leading call of £1740 was achieved for a Charolais bullock from ever consistent vendor Messrs Stamper, Rose Farm, Cockermouth.  Heifers met ferocious demand to £1680 for a fantastic British Blue cross from Messrs Twentyman, Osborne Farm, Wigton.  Over 36m cattle sold to £1620 for a 42m old Limousin x bullock from Messrs Ritchie, Stormont, Gretna.  Dairy bred cattle sold well especially forward condition to an incredible £1480 for a pen of British Blue x heifers from Messrs Faulder, Thistledown, Carlisle.  Native cattle sold to £1270 for an Aberdeen Angus bullock from first time vendors Fristling Hall Farms.

WEANED CATTLE: A very mixed show of weaned cattle with all qualities and sizes present.  The bulls proved much harder to sell on the week.  Top price bull went on to sell for £1140 for a Limousin x from Bridgehouse Farming Company, Bridgehouse Farm, Whithorn.  The clean cattle were easier to sell with a lot of plainer dairy end of cattle being well bid for.  Messrs Eve, Stubbsgill sold a pair of 7 month old Limousin heifers for £1000.   Messrs Graham, Hill End Farm Annan also sold a pair of Limousin x suckled calves for £980.
