Aytonian Dispersal Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

Amazing Grace Tops Aytonian Dispersal

Milk producers and Holstein breeders from across the UK and Ireland travelled to Borderway for the dispersal of the Aytonian Pedigree Holstein herd owned by the Petch family from near Middlesbrough.  This was one of the best Holstein herd in Yorkshire with cows having been milked at Whitegate Farm since 1921.  It was great to see so many previous buyers of Aytonian cattle in the large crowd of buyers a great testament as to how these animals perform for people.

The undoubted quality on offer combined with the Petch family attractive and likeable personality resulted in a brisk trade with 78 selling for or more than £2000 to average £1921 per life.  Four animals topped at 2,800gns the first was Aytonian Grace, a Very Good 87 Doorman daughter who was bred from six generations of Excellent or Very Good dams.  She had calved in June and was due again to Applejax sexed and now joins the Fleming near Strathaven.

Aytonian Grace 246 - 2800gns

Aytonian Iris sold for 2,800gns to the Robinson from near Hexham.  She was sired by Doorman and was carrying a pregnancy to King Doc sexed.

Also selling for 2,800gns was Aytonian Annie who was purchased by Messer Bulmers from near Stranraer.  She was classified Very Good and bred from four generations of Excellent or Very Goods she was sired by De-Sue Bookem

The last animal to sell for 2,800gns was Aytonian Aster who was purchased by Belaw Farming from near Northallerton.  Sired by Doorman from a Very Good Planet dam followed by an amazing line of an Excellent 94 Outside, Excellent 92 Convincer, Excellent 94 Manat and an Excellent 93 Astre.

In Calf heifers sold well to average £1700 with two heifers topping at 2,000gns one sired by Bromley and one sired by Mogul.  The Petch family would like to thank everyone who supported their sale and wish them much success.
