Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cows

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their Christmas Cast cows and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £1152.27 and winning the top priced Beef Cow per head was a seven year old Limousin cross cow weighing 782kg and making 198.5p/kg from Messrs Slack, Stoneriggs, Hilton which sold to Owain Llyr, Ruthin.

Topping at 223.5p/kg was a pure Blonde cow from Messrs Rylands, Tullithwaite Hall, Kendal which was bought by Owain Llyr.

A trio of cows sold for 193.5p/kg firstly from Messrs Rylands with a British Blue cross cow selling to Messrs Lancaster, Leyburn.

Again making 193.5p/kg was a five year old Limousin cross cow weighing 712kg grossing £1377.72 also from Stoneriggs, purchased by Owain Llyr.

Messrs Atkinson, Waitby Farm was the third vendor to reach the 193.5p/kg for a British Blue cross cow selling to D Barker, Scarborough.

Trade from Start to finish can only be described as off the close, with an unbelievable overall sale average of 163.31p/kg and £1061.35.
