The Annual Second Sale of Badger Face Texels took place at Carlisle on Saturday, and saw a small selection of rams females forward, resulting in a top price of 2100gns being achieved for a shearling gimmer. This was Greystone Berry consigned by Messrs McLaren & Baird, Berry was sired by Greystone Apollo and out of and imported ewe. She was purchased by Messrs Preston from Bingley, West Yorkshire.
Henry Jewitt sold the next best prices with a gimmer and two ewe lambs all selling for 1000gns. The gimmer, Sunnybank Baby Cakes was sired by the imported ram 26254-46577 also out of an imported gimmer. She was purchased by Messrs Burgess from New Abbey, Dumfries.
Henry’s two ewe lambs, Sunnybank Champagne and Cupcake were both purchased by Messrs Crowther from Annan.
Another ewe lamb sold for 1000gns, this was Look Here Cupcake consigned by Messrs Lockyer and Randell, Cupcake was sired by Tordown Albert and purchased by Messrs Thomlinson from Wigton.
