A good entry of sheep - 116 in total, provided a good selection of animals for the buyers. With a lot of pre-sale interest fingers were crossed for a good sale which was proven to be the case on sale day with a good trade across the board.

With the next joint highest price in the Shearling Rams at 750gns it was the Newark and Janos Flocks with the rams selling to Mr Harrison, Peebleshire and Mr Ellis, Gwynedd. Many other shearling rams following closely behind at 700gns with a good clearance.

Ram Lambs were in demand with the top spot being found at 3000gns for the Pre Show second place Ram Lamb from Mr Burgess, bidding was brisk but it was Mrs Lewis, Dumfries who finally secured him for her flock. Following on it was the Newark Flock who had the next highest price with 800gns travelling to Wales to Mr Shakespeare, Monmouthshire. Also making his way to Wales was another lamb from Mrs Barbour selling for 680gns to D J Gwynne Partnership.

The only Aged Ewe forward on the day sold for 420gns selling to Mr Oxley, Wigtownshire. Shearling Ewes found a steady trade throughout topping at 500gns for a ewe from the Janos flock selling to Mr Tennant, Yorkshire. Several other lots from the Janos flock also selling at 420gns.
