Spring Fling Texel Sale

A 4800gns call was the pick of the prices at the Spring Fling sale of Texel females, Carlisle, with this paid for an Usk Vale gimmer from Usk Vale Pedigrees.

Taking the lead price was UVP2004166, an ET bred daughter of Hexel Born To Be Wild out of a Roundacre dam by Forkins Won And Only. She sold to Gary Beacom, Northern Ireland.

Second best at 3000gns was the best of the sale from Albert and George Howie’s Knock pen, HAK2001499. This gimmer is by Sportsmans Chieftain and out of a Rhaeadr-bred dam by Rhaeadr Ace. She was the pick of Moir Livestock, Fraserburgh.

Selling at 2500gns was another from the Usk Vale consignment, UVP2004158. Again ET bred and by Born To Be Wild, she is out of a Glenside dam by the 130,000gns Sportsmans A Star and was bought by John Howard, Middlesborough.

Then at 2000gns was another from the Howies. This was HAK2001490, an ET bred daughter of the homebred Knock Crackerjack out of dam by Arkle Yingyang. Taking this one home was Alistair Jackson, Annan.

Another from Usk Vale then sold at 1900gns, with this being a full sister to the 2500gns gimmer. She was bought by Mark Radcliffe, Glossop.

Taking an 1800gns call was another of the Usk Vale gimmers, UVP2004148. This Hope Valley C The Stars daughter is out of a homebred Hexel Born To Be Wild daughter which is maternal sister to the 20,000gns Usk Vale Corker and the 15,000gns Usk Vale Champagne Charlie.

Also at this money was an Ettrick gimmer from Gordon Gray. This was GGH2010125, a Brackenridge Commander daughter of out dam by Llyfni Usain Bolt. She is a maternal sister to the 10,500gns Ettrick Rainbow Warrior and a number of high selling females including the 26,000gns Rihanna. This one found a new home with Daniel Clarke, Leicester.

And making 1500gns was the very next lot from the same home GGH 2010077. Again by Commander, this ET-bred gimmer is out of a dam by Midcombe Brigadier which was third prize ewe lamb at the Highland in 2019. She headed home with G H Adams, Banchory.
