Dumfriesshire producers, Messrs Murray, Gretna, forked out the top price of 2100gns for the ram, Knotlow Go For It, at the inaugural British Dorper Sheep Society sale at Carlisle. This two-shear ram from Derbyshire breeder, Margaret Hollinrake, Knotlow, Buxton, who sold the majority of the top priced lots, is by Knotlow Enigma and out of Knotlow Dyllis.
The same buyers also went to the 1700gns for the second top priced female, Knotlow Helen, a gimmer by Dell Dorpers Juke.
The ram lamb, Knotlow Ivanhoe, realised 1100gns to Messrs Tester, Riverhall, Biddenden, Kent. January-born, this Dell Jackpot son is out of Knotlow Gwenevere.
Messrs Tester also went to 1800gns for the lead priced female, Knotlow Irresistible, a ewe lamb also sired by Jackpot.
Averages: 3 gimmers £1155.00; 10 ewe lambs £819.00; 6 ram lambs £857.50
