The annual Dutch Texel Sheep Society Sale held at Carlisle on Monday saw a top price of 5000gns being achieved by Stuart Wood for the Overall Champion.
Woodies Texels Dakota was the sale leader, the 1st prize shearling ram sired by Thacka Carlos, out of a Parkside dam. He was purchased by Mr Knight, Seascale, Cumbria.
Following on with the pen leader from Steven Wigham, was Hargill Dynamite a shearling ram sired by Thacka Brock and out of a Woodies Texels Weapon daughter, sold to 2800gns to Messrs Moralee, Hexham.
The Woodies pen take the next price at 2200gns for another shealring ram, this time Woodies Texels Destruction sired by Tacka Carlosand out of a Thacka bred ewe. The successful purchaser was Messrs Henderson, Hexham.
Mr Pyman, Thacka flock sold Thacka Duke for 2100gns, a shearling ram by the imported A Class to local prime lamb producer Messrs Storey, Haltwhistle.
The Tacka flock sold Thacker Dougie, an A Champion Import son to Messrs Lee & Son, Hexham for 2000gns.
In the female section the Wiston flock of Sylvia Rawlings topped at 2200gns for a shearling gimmer sired by imported ram Yohan and out of a homebred ewe by the imported Toledo, she joins the Woodies Texel flock of Stuart Wood, Aberdeenshire.
At 1800gns was a substitute gimmer from Stuart Wood, Woodies Texel flock, she was sired by Tacka Carlos bought by Messrs Cropper, North Yorkshire.
