Border Leicester Female Shows & Sale

The Border Leicester Society held its Premier Female sale in Carlisle on 10 January 2022.  At the show before the Sale R N Howie & Partners, North Lyham were awarded the Champion spot by judge Ian Walker, Laigh Alticane with Messrs S & A Watson, Culticheldoch in Reseve place.  

The Record price for a female was broken for a Ewe Hogg from John Barrowman, Knockglass which fetched £3150 to Mr & Mrs Stanley.  Elsewhere Richard Hartshorn paid £1890 for the Reserve Champion

Messrs Gower dispersed their "Oaklands" flock at the sale

Averages on the day for the different categories were Aged Ewes (including dispersal)  7 averaged £760.50, Gimmers (including dispersal) 12 averaged £1172.50, Ewe Hoggs (including dispersal) 13 averaged £1058.08
