Middleton In Teesdale Special Janaury Store Cattle Show & Sale

On Tuesday 18^th January Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held its opening sale of store cattle within Middleton-In-Teesdale Mart.

A catalogued entry of 112 cattle mostly 7-9 month old were forward to a simply astounding trade throughout.

The pre sale show, was sponsored by Farmhouse Kitchen and judged by Mr Will Harrison, Driffield who is a regular supporter of Middleton Mart. After much deliberation the Champion rosette was awarded to a Limousin steer from Mr Malcom Dent, Wythes Hill. A certainly worthy Champion who had to beat an amazing class of 13 steers. The Champion later sold to the top prize of the day at £1460 to the judge.

The next top price came from Neville & Alison Bainbridge, Laneside selling a Limousin to £1310.

The Reserve Champion came from JE & AJ Mitchell, Parrick House with a Limousin heifer selling to £1160.

Out with the show, the sale had a blistering trade from start to finish, with a packed ringside of buyers.
