Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 2^nd February Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 250 calves.  A smaller show on the week was greeted by a stronger trade.  Topping todays sale at £540 was a cracking Limousin bull from Messrs Marshall, Brownrigg Farm, Dumfries, closely followed at £530 from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown.  Strong calves of 3 months plus continue be in high demand with less cost against them with the rising milk powder prices.  Black and White calves saw a fantastic increase with younger calves being £50 dearer on the week.
