Kirkby Stephen Prime Sheep Sale - Charity Lots

A truly heart warming display of generosity occurred at Kirkby Stephen Auction Market at their Tuesday evening prime sheep sale after the recent sudden untimely death of Mr Ali Shan of Yorkshire Halal Meats. The Shan families wholesale meat business being great supporters of our weekly Tuesday prime sheep sale and being one of our largest buyer week in week out.

Throughout the evening several consignors showed their generosity by donating sheep to be sold in aid of the British Heart Foundation in memory of Ali. Appreciation goes to the following consignors who generously donated sheep - Robert Skelton, New Hall Farm; Tom Sayer, Town End Farm; Arthur & George Slack, Stoneriggs; Ian Bell & Rebecca Dickens, Hallbankgate Farm; The Birkbeck Family, Castle Hill; Robin & Tom Fisher, Smalmstown Farm; Geoff Smith, Kelmore Hill; Paul Fairburn, Marriforth; Ronnie Downie, Newton Farm; Richard Pattinson, Pinfold House; Mark Wills, Fawcett Park Farm, with a fantastic £6127.50 being raised.

With the final two sheep to be offered, a prime hogg from Ronnie Downie, Aberdeenshire and a cast ewes from Arthur & George Slack, Hilton both selling for a £1000 each, with both these being generously purchased by the Leo Group, Halifax.
