On Thursday afternoon Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their sale of 550 all breeds commercial inlamb sheep was held.
The sale topped at £192 on two separate occasions both from Messrs Atkinson, Abbey Park, Bleatarn for a pen of ten Mule shearlings which sold to Messrs Steel, Low Hall, Little Musgrave and also for a pen of ten 2 and 3 crop Mule ewes selling to Messrs Clarke, Stripes Farm, Waitby.
Messrs Atkinson also sold a pen of ten 2 and 3 crop Mule ewes to £188 purchased by Messrs Bainbridge, Red House Farm, Barnard Castle and £180 for a pen of ten Mule shearling selling to Hesket Demain Ltd, Carlisle. This consignment 60 Mule shearlings to 3 crop sold to average £181.79.
Messrs Bousfield, Bollam Terrace, Kirkby Stephen sold a pen of eight 3 shear Beltex ewes to make £185 selling to Messrs Bindloss, Shap Abbey. With another pen from this home selling to £180 also to Messrs Bindloss.
Messrs Fisher, Haber, Crosby Ravensworth dispersed their flock 300 Swaledale ewes inlamb to Bluefaced Leicester which were turned out in strong condition. Topping this consignment at £150 were a pen of twenty 3/5 crop ewes which sold to Messrs Bindloss, Shap Abbey. With another pen of twenty 3/5 crop from this home sold for £142 to Messrs Brown, Asby Hall, with other pens of twenties selling to £132, £130. With a pen of 18 correct below from this home selling for £102. The consignment of 300 Swaledale ewes 3/5 crop from this home averaged £114.79.
