On Wednesday 16th February Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 306 calves. A larger show of calves was forward with trade much the same on the week for most classes but noticeably sharper for younger calves especially British Blue heifers selling the best rates. Topping today’s sale at £515 was an Angus bull from Messrs Hetherington, Crookdake House. British Blue bulls topped at £490 from the same home and also on 3 occasions from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown. Heifers topped at £420 for a Blue heifer from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower. Black and white calves continue to sell well with well reared calves selling at the best rates.
