INCREDIBULL DAY FOR THE GERRARD HERD
The February Border & Lakeland sale was once again brimming with quality milking animals and the pedigrees on offer attracted breeders from across the UK and Ireland. The overall average settled at £2049 with the top price cow selling for 4,500gns; with 57 animals sold for or more than £2000.
Dugdale Nutrition sponsored the show and Jennifer Picken from Milton Farm judged the pre-sale classes. The Overall Champion topped the trade at 4,500gns and was purchased by Adam and Becky Walton. Gerrard Incedibull Royal Red was consigned by Andrew Carter from Gerrard House near Wigton. She has classified Very Good as a heifer with her first three dams all scoring Excellent. Another super cow from this home sold for 2,400gns, with Gerrard Pharo Jean VG85 2yr going to the Harrison family near Penrith.

Overall Champion
Jennifer selected Boclair Casper Marie as her 1st place Heifer and Reserve Champion, she was consigned by the Brewster family from near Glasgow and sold for 2,400gns to Mr Denholm from Stirlingshire. She was sired by Claynook Casper and bred from the Marie cow family going back to Denmire.

Reserve Champion
Topping the heifer trade at 3,500gns was Berryholme Dealmaker Linda consigned by the Wright family. She was sired by Claynook Dealmaker and is a granddaughter of the 2015 National Holstein Champion Berryholme Infloence Linda who also represented Great Britain at the European Show in Colmar in 2016.
Peter Kemp from Aberdeen sold four well bred heifers and topped at 3,200gns for Drointon Twizzle Amberley who was purchased by Drointon Holsteins. She was sired by All.Nure Twizzle from the Tri_Day Ashlyn cow family.
David and Jim Gray sold Grayridge Juicy Couture fro 2,900gns to Jim Caldwell from Ayrshire. She was sired by Attico Red, her dam is due to see the classifier next month and is excepted to go Excellent next dam is an Excellent 93 Balisto.
The Drointon Show Ready Sale comprised of six young calves ready to show at UK Dairy Expo in March. This fine group aveaged £1925 and topped at 2,600gns for Droinotn Untouchabull Okalibra Red. This ultra stylish calf has the three-time Swiss Expo Champion, Okalibra EX97 as a 4th dam in her pedigree and was purchased by Mr Watson from the Muir Farm in Ayrshire.
