Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

ALL GUNS BLAZING

Troops gather round the ring and the war for store cattle commences. Lockerbie Auction mart held its fortnightly sale of store cattle on Tuesday seeing another increased entry met with vigorous force. Explosive from start to finish with a plethora of men ringside. Cattle nearly hit the 300ppk mark for D Robson’s Limousin bullocks at 297p and 296p respectively.  Charolais bullocks were up to 277p from Messrs Spence, North Corrielaw who had Shorthorns at 263p and an Aberdeen Angus at 259p. Messrs McGregor, Relief Farm also had Charolais bullocks at 276p. Heifers were also dynamite with Charolais to 280p from Messrs Spence who also sold Simmental Heifers at 270p. Limousin bullocks were also sold to the same price from DA Wilson, Belzies. Limousin bullocks top at £1300 from Callum Rae, Muirhead who also had some at £1270, £1160 and £1130. Charolais bullocks were up to £1150 from Andrew Reid, Glendearg. Limousin bullocks sold to £1285 from Messrs Wilson, Belzies and £1255 from Messrs Brown, Mosshead. Aberdeen Angus bullocks sold to £1190 from Messrs Lockhart, Greenbeck. Limousin heifers were also a blast selling to £1260 again from Messrs Wilson, Belzies.

The next sale at Lockerbie is the March Special Sale which will once again see a mixture of stores including a good run of quality on that day. Please advise entries to the auctioneers.
