At Wooler on Wednesday 2^nd March Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of primestock selling 821 prime sheep comprising of 604 Hoggs and 217 Cast Ewes & Rams

Hoggs:

With more heavy and tail end sorts on offer trade was easier in line with trend

A huge Texel hogg was donated by M Hindmarsh, Linden Hill Head Farm to The Ukraine Refugee Appeal this realised £160 to C Siswick and was sold again at the same price to B Gray, C Snowdon, A Atkinson and Harrison & Hetherington, another charity hogg realised £108 to J Curle and C Siswick raising in total £1006

A very mixed and weathered show of cast sheep forward sold to extremely dear rates throughout as numbers tighten nationally

Sale topped on two occasions with Texels from Calum McAlpine, Auchencrow Mains then secondly from J S & P Fleming, Lochside Farm achieving £177 for both pens

Cast tups sold to a peak of £157 for a shapely Beltex from Craig Mellor, Annstead Farm
