A good entry of animals were forward for the annual Spring sale of Whitebred Shorthorns expertly judged by Mr R Lund of East Clough Farm, Sedburgh.
1st prize bull and overall champion Parton Flint was bred and produced by Messers Hewson, Burgh Head Farm, Carlisle. Sired by Parton Review out of Parton Suzanna 91st.

Overall champion Parton Flint
2nd Prize bull and reserve champion Hottbank Spectre bred and sold from Messers Pattinson, Hotbank farm. He sold for 2000gns, purchased by Messers Hogg.
1st prize female went to Barleas Heather Bell 22nd, sired by Hottbank Shamrock out of Barleas Heather Bell. This homebred heifer sold for 1100gns to Messers Baird of Thornhill, Dumfries.
There was a keen interest in the Burnedge dispersal sale, the top price was Burnedge Isaac which sold for 950gns.
