Whitebred Shorthorn Spring Show & Sale

A good entry of animals were forward for the annual Spring sale of Whitebred Shorthorns expertly judged by Mr R Lund of East Clough Farm, Sedburgh.

1^st prize bull and overall champion Parton Flint was bred and produced by Messers Hewson, Burgh Head Farm, Carlisle.  Sired by Parton Review out of Parton Suzanna 91^st. 

Overall champion Parton Flint

2^nd Prize bull and reserve champion Hottbank Spectre bred and sold from Messers Pattinson, Hotbank farm. He sold for 2000gns, purchased by Messers Hogg.

1^st prize female went to Barleas Heather Bell 22^nd, sired by Hottbank Shamrock out of Barleas Heather Bell.  This homebred heifer sold for 1100gns to Messers Baird of Thornhill, Dumfries.

There was a keen interest in the Burnedge dispersal sale, the top price was Burnedge Isaac which sold for 950gns.
