Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping at £1817.81 was a cast British blue bull weighing 759kg and making 239.5p/kg from Messrs Raine & Davidson, Thorney Gale, Kirkby Stephen.

Topping at 255.5p/kg was a British Blue cross cow from Messrs Lancaster, Fell View, Sandford.

Limousin cross cows also sold to 243.5p/kg from Messrs Maughan, Ash Garth, Great Asby.

Messrs Akrigg, Manor House Farm, Skipton sold Limousin cross cows to £1554.20 for an eight year old cow weighing 760kg and making 204.5p/kg.

Limousin cross cows also sold to 228.5p/kg also from Messrs Akrigg.

Messrs Mellin, Mill House Farm, Long Preston sold a British Blue cross cow to make 225.5p/kg (£1483.79)

Dairy cows topped at £1278.21 and 155.5p/kg for a eight year old Holstein from Messrs Hastwell, The Buildings Farm, Kaber.

A seven year old Holstein cow also sold for £1276.43 and 152.5p/kg from this same home.

Holstein/Friesian cows topped at 164.5p/kg from Messrs Walton, Bank View, Rookby.

Nothing more can be said than all classes and breeds of cast cows and OTMs were off the clock with an overall sale average of 180.17p/kg and £1247 confirming there is only one way to sell cows at the moment and that’s in a live market.

Many more of all types can easily be sold to massive demand!!
