Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 23rd March Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with a total of 418 forward.  Calves on the week would be easier again with a third of the sale being New Zealand system bred calves.    Topping todays bulls was a British Blue from Messrs Elwen, Netherfield Farm which sold to £490. Aberdeen Angus were also a good trade topping at £445 from Messrs McKie, Wedholme Farm with an excellent bull calf.  Messrs Harrington, Mounsey Bank topped the Friesian Section twice at £180.  Messrs Elwen, Netherfield also topped the heifers with a British Blue at £435 and Angus at £330.  Messrs Foster, Coombe Crag Charolais heifer came to good money again at £285.
