On Monday 11th April Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store & breeding sheep.
A larger show of ewes and lambs were forward. A challenging trade on the day with strong older sheep continuing to sell well but younger sheep proving to be more challenging with it being early in the season. Topping today’s sale at £112 a life was a Texel hogg and lamb from Messrs Todhunter, Greyrigg. Messrs Willison, Cinderbarrow topped the Mule ewes at £89 for 3 correct ewes with singles and sold pairs to £80 a life. This run of 30 Mule ewes with lambs sold to average £76. More strong, older types of ewes could be easily sold to vendor’s advantage.
