On Tuesday 12th April Harrison and Hetherington held its April sale of 80 store bullocks and heifers in Middleton in Teasdale Market. A strong show was presented which saw stronger cattle keenly bid for with longer term cattle harder to place due to rising fertiliser and feed costs. Topping the sale were some Limousin steers from JA Robinson, New House selling for £1120 as well from Mr Richard Walton, Eller Gill Barn selling for the same price. Heifers were in strong demand with top price coming again jointly from JD Bentley & Sons, Lanehead and Richard Walton, Eller Gill Barn selling Limousin heifers for £1100. An increase in 50% on the years entry is a clear indication Middleton is becoming a noticeable centre for all classes of store cattle.
Our next sale is on May 10th which is a show and sale.
