Borderway Store and Breeding sheep Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

On Monday 18th April Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store & breeding sheep.

Grass growth boosts Ewe and Lamb trade with the dearest rates seen this year. A fantastic ringside of buyers ensured all classes sold to top rates. Topping todays sale at £142 for a cracking Texel cross hogg with single Beltex lamb at foot was Messrs Norman, The Bow, Great Orton whose run of Texel hoggs and ewes sold to average £135.50 per life. Mule shearlings created a great interest topping at £109 for singles from Messrs Mitchell, Cumbrae and pairs from the same home to £90.

Correct below Mule ewes with singles sold to £88 and pairs to £76 from Messrs Gilhespy, TedCastle Farm. The largest portion of the sale were older Continental ewes which sold with ease. Single broken mouthed ewes topped at £101 with pairs to £88 from Annual consignor Messrs Gardner, Glebelands. 21 units from this home averaged £88.
