Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 27^th April Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with an extensive entry of 440 calves forward.  Top price bull today was £530 twice from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown for two thumping British Blue calves.  Messrs Preston, Wed Holme House topped the Limousin section at £520 from an outstanding consignment of bulls.  Angus were in the money today topping twice from Messrs RJ Raven Ltd, Crookdake Hall, Wigton at at £420.  £265 was top price Holstein Friesian from Ling Dairies and £235 was achieved three times from Anguswell Ltd, Kirklinton, Carlisle.

British Blue heifers topped at £525 twice and £520 twice from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown and J & R Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton topped the Angus at £400 twice.  Messrs Fox, Windy Hill topped the Limousin section at £390. Hereford topped at £210 and £200 twice from Cowhill Trust.  A large show seeing huge returns from start to finish and more required to meet buyers demand.
