Borderway Store & Breeding Sheep Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

On Monday 2nd May Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store & breeding sheep. Bank holiday Monday at Borderway saw the ewes and lamb ring packed with the trade every bit as dear if not the dearest. Top price of the day was paid for a Dutch spotted cross hogg with ¾ ewe lambs at foot from Messrs Errington, Hunley Farm topping the day at £190 per head with the consignment averaging at £161.80 per head. Continental hoggs and younger ewes were all very easily sold but mule hoggs looked the best value. A very high demand was in place for older splitting units with old mule ewes with twins selling for £84 a head. Trade throughout sore all venders leaving highly delighted with trade set to be as strong again next week, same time, same place, Monday 9th May 2022.
