Middleton In Teesdale Store Cattle Show & Sale

On Tuesday 10^th May 2022 H&H held their special may sale of store cattle which was kindly sponsored by Farmhouse Kitchens, Copley Coal Co, Jameson Feeds, G Shepherd and Coxhoe service & Supply.

The pre-sale show was kindly judged by Mr Mark Robshaw, Tadcaster who is a highly regarded stockman and feeder making an excellent job of his task at hand. The 1^st prize Limousin heifer from Messrs Mitchell, Parrick House Farm, Barnard Castle was his choice as champion, this stylish heifer leads the day’s trading at £1480 selling to Messrs Robinson, Staindrop. Standing in reserve was the 1^st prize Limousin cross bullock from Messrs Watson, Palletstone, Barnard Castle, Mr Robshaw backed his judgment purchasing him for the leading bullock price of £1380.

Trade for all classes was exceptional, with the cattle forward being 7-9 months of age. Bullocks averaged £1071.39 (+£70.56) with heifers at £1003 (+£95.47).
