On Tuesday 10th May 2022 H&H held their special may sale of store cattle which was kindly sponsored by Farmhouse Kitchens, Copley Coal Co, Jameson Feeds, G Shepherd and Coxhoe service & Supply.
The pre-sale show was kindly judged by Mr Mark Robshaw, Tadcaster who is a highly regarded stockman and feeder making an excellent job of his task at hand. The 1st prize Limousin heifer from Messrs Mitchell, Parrick House Farm, Barnard Castle was his choice as champion, this stylish heifer leads the day’s trading at £1480 selling to Messrs Robinson, Staindrop. Standing in reserve was the 1st prize Limousin cross bullock from Messrs Watson, Palletstone, Barnard Castle, Mr Robshaw backed his judgment purchasing him for the leading bullock price of £1380.
Trade for all classes was exceptional, with the cattle forward being 7-9 months of age. Bullocks averaged £1071.39 (+£70.56) with heifers at £1003 (+£95.47).
