Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly sale of cast and OTM cattle when an entry of 40 head were forward.

Topping the sale at £1884.48 was a 9 year old Limousin cow weighing 832kg and selling for 226.5p/kg from Messrs Mason, High Green Farm, Carnforth.

Topping at 239.5p/kg was a Limousin cross cow from Messrs Atkinson, Abbey Park, Bleatarn.

Messrs Bland, Cotegill, Gaisgill sold a 6 year old Limousin cow weighing 798kg to make 228.5p/kg and £1823.43.

Messrs Harker, Grayrigg Hall, Kendal sold a 9 year old Limousin cow weighing 790kg to make 222.5p/kg £1757.75.

Messrs Slack, Stoneriggs, Hilton sold a 6 year old Limousin cow weighing 741kg and making 236.5p/kg £1752.47.

Beef shorthorn cows sold to £1692.58 for a 5 year old cow weighing 857kg and making 197.5p/kg from Messrs Taylor, Low Howgill, Penrith, with a 10 year old Beef Shorthorn cow from this same home making £1640.88 and 193.5p/kg.

The 4 Beef Shorthorn cows from Low Howgill sold to average £1575.11 & 190p/kg.
