Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 18^th May Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with another colossal show of 408 forward with trade still as strong.

Top price today was £550 for a British Blue bull from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown and £530 from Messrs Scott, Shacklehill, Ayrshire.  Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower was up to £510 for a cracking Angus bull and Herefords were up to £340 from Messrs Henderson, Park House.  Holstein Friesians were up to £230 on five occasions from Messrs Morley, Hadderdale, and Messrs Walker, Marlborough Hall Farm.  Denis Cadzow, Duncrahill topped the Limousin section at £430 from a thumper of bull calf.

Heifers were in high demand topping at £485 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower for a British Blue and Messrs Stevenson, Blue House was up to £330 twice from Charolais heifers.  Aberdeen Angus heifers were upto  £335 from Messrs Graves, East Scales Ltd and £375 was top price Limousin from Messrs McKie, Stoneybrook.  Trade still strong and all classes still in high demand.
