Carlisle Beef Breeding Sale

On Friday 27^TH May Harrison and Hetherington held their monthly Beef Breeding sale at Borderway Mart. A great entry of 330 cows and heifers with calves at foot was on offer on Friday at Carlisle with the ring being full to the rafters, ensuring that Harrison and Hetherington lead the way with breeding stock sales. With lots selling for £3000 or more.  Messrs Livingstone, Kirtlevale run of standing heifers and calves topped at £4500 for a British Blue cross heifer and calf. Messrs Watson, Millrigg sold two British Blue cross cows and calves for £4000 and £3900. Messrs Barclay, South Road sold a Simmental cross cow and calf for £4000 and a Limousin cow and calf for £3800. Mr Gary Bell, Haas Side Farm heifers and calves topped at £3800 for a Limousin cross.  Messrs Edmondson, Nether houses Farm Limousin cross heifers and calves topped at £3700. Messrs Malone, Pitcairn Farm British Blue cross heifers, and calves topped at £3600.
