On Wednesday 1st June Harrison & Hetherington held their Jubilee Calf show where the Pre Sale Show was kindly judged by Mr Roger Graves and generously sponsored by Genus ABS. He awarded the Champion Rosette to a fantastic Charolais bull calf from Messrs Templeton, Glenlaugh Farm which later sold for the days top price of £630. Reserve Champion was awarded to a lovely young Blue bull calf from Messrs James, Midtodhills.

Stronger calves sold to a sharper trade regularly £500+ with 22 calves exceeding this price. Messrs Templeton, Glenlaugh sold 3 calves to average £535. Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown sold 13 to average £518, Messrs Martin, Tempest Towers sold 4 to average £505 and Messrs Brough, Bolton Cottages sold 5 to average £503.
Young calves and Angus again sold to a flying trade. Fleckviehs sold to £390 and £380 from Connell Farms. A lovely run of 15 Montbelairdes bulls sold to average £211 from A F Ramsey, Glenluce.
