On Friday 27th May Harrison and Hetherington held a sale of Bulling Heifers. A much smaller offering of bulling heifers forward on the year proving a shortage for the buoyant ringside ensuring trade surpassing many of the previous year’s trades. Good black heifers very much in demand seeing a top of £2300 for a pen of four Limousin crosses from Messrs Muir, Middle Farm, Penrith who are annual consignors to this sale. Messrs Foley Bros, Mirlaw House, Newcastle sold their run of heifers to a days top of £2220 for a pen of three. Messrs Renton, Highlaws, Newcastle sold eight Limousin and British Blue heifers to average £2005 and to a top of £2200 for two.
