Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 15th June Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly Calf Sale at Borderway.  A much larger show of 336 calves were presented with the usual ringside of buyer being present.  Topping the sale was a Limousin heifer form JR & JRW Corlett, Skiddaw View selling for £585.  Steers topped at £550 from DJ Livingstone, Gretna for a Limousin.   British Blues topped at £540 for a pair of steers      AV Elwen, Netherfield, Irthington.  Aberdeen Angus topped at £470 from CD & CA Somerville, Dumfries. Dairy calves were very dear with a top price coming for a Fleckvieh bull from Andrew Vance, Newton Stewart selling for £350.  Hereford topped at £240 from H R Henderson, The Gill.
