Armour Sires The Tops At Snab
The Burrow family from High Snab Farm near Gressingham in Lancashire dispersed their pedigree Holstein herd at the Borderway sale Centre with buyers from across the UK in attendance. The Burrow family have produced milk at High Snab Farm for 120 years and had developed a strong, robust and highly productive herd that was highly appreciated by all who attended this special event.
Trade topped at 2,900gns on three occasions with the milking heifers averaging £2349; one of the features of this sale was that all the young cows and heifers were all sired by Immunity Plus sires with a large percentage being the second generation sired my Immunity Plus sires.
Snab Armour Helen topped the cows selling for 2,900gns going to Mr Hose from near Stranraer. She had recently calved in her second and was giving close to 50kgs. She was sired by Boldi Armour and bred from a Vieuxsaule Flame dam that gave almost 12000kgs as a milking yearling.
Two milking heifers both sired by Boldi Armour and both bred from Vieuxsaule Flame dams also sold for 2,900gns the first was, Snab Armour Jean who was purchased by Mr Dixon from Carlisle. She was classified Good Plus 84 with herd dam classifying Very Good 86.
Snab Armour Belle 3 sold for 2,900gns she was a Very Good 86 milking heifer and had been bred back to Claynook Dealmaker sexed for next year and was bought by Mr Millar from near Lockerbie.
A super group of in-calf heifers averaged almost £2039 and topped at 2,200gns twice the first sired by Gen-I-Beq Halak and the second sired by Boldi Armour with both heifers due in September to Stantons Adorable sexed.
