Richaven Seeing is Believing Sale

It was a glorious day for all who attended the Richaven Seeing is Believing Sale hosted by Richard & Dawn Bown and family, owners of the famous Richaven Holstein herd.  The herd was established almost 30 years ago and in this short period the herd has achieved so much, winning the Holstein UK Premier Herd title in 2009 along with many All-Britain winners Richard has also bred several legendary individuals such as Richaven Raider Squaw EX97 and Richaven Goldwyn Adrrienne EX96.

This special sale group were presented to the highest of standards with everyone attending being more than impressed.  Animals were purchased by breeders from England, Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland and the Rep. of Ireland with 11 counties recorded on the buyers list with 50% of the sale being purchased online.   

Topping the sale was Richaven Byway Kay a maximum pointed three year old that has incredible show potential.  She is sired by Byway and bred from a deep cow family going back to one of Richards all time favourite cows, Flettdale Stardust Kay who classified Excellent 96 and produced over 130 ton of milk lifetime.  This ultra stylish cow sold for 16,000gns to Mr Potter from Gloucester.

Sale Topper Richaven Byway Kay sold for 16,000gns to Mike Potter in Gloucestershire 

Richaven Sidekick Adrienne featured on the front cover of the catalogue and sold for 4,500gns to Walton Farms in Leicestershire.  Sired by Walnutlawn Sidekick with her first three dams averaging almost 94 points and all with massive lifetime yields.  Maternal sister to the dam in this pedigree is the amazing Richaven Goldwyn Adrienne EX96 who was Grand Champion at Agriscot in 2013.
