Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £1927.80 and 229.5p/kg for an 8 year old 840kg Limousin cross cow from Messrs Hayton, Asby Great Asby.

Another Limousin cross cow made 229.5p/kg also from Messrs Hayton, Asby Grange.

Messrs Scott, Low House, Barnard Castle sold a Charolais cow weighing 760kg to make 225.5p/kg (£1713.80).

Messrs Sedgley, Low Bank House sold a ten year old British Blue cross cow weighing 775kg to make 208.5p/kg (£1615.88).

None tested TB zone Holstein/Friesian cows sold to 178.5p/kg and £1210.23 for a 678kg cow from Messrs Longrigg, Brakes Hall, Appleby.

All classes were on fire with a fantastic overall sale average of 193.06p/kg and £1352.77 being achieved!
