Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 17th August Harrison & Hetherington held its Anniversary Show and Sale with a grand entry of 328 calves forward.  Vendors from Lancashire to Stirling travelled to Borderway to reap the rewards of the Carlisles Calf ring.  Topping todays trade was a Charolais bull from Messrs Gilvear, Graystale Farm, who won Champion bull and Reserve Overall and made £625.  British Blues were upto £500 from Messrs Vance, Portyerrock and Messrs Craig, Barlae was upto £470 for Simmentals.  Messrs Livingstone, Kirtlevale sold to £445 for a Limousin bulls.  Messrs Vance, Portyerrock topped at £410 for Herefords and Angus were up to £455 from Messrs Lough, South Lough.  Todays heifer and Overall Champion was a phenomenal suckler bred heifer from Messrs Gilvear, Greystale Farm at £560.  Blue heifers topped at £405 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower.
