Borderway Beef Breeding

On Friday 19^th August Harrison and Hetherington held their monthly Beef Breeding sale at Borderway Mart. A small offering of 70 cows and calves forward to a good crowd of buyers ensuring trade was very good throughout and all vendors left delighted. Topping the sale overall was a second calving pedigree Limousin cow and bull calf at foot from Messrs Myerscough, Sea View, Ulverston. Messrs Knox, Cragside, Kelso sold another pedigree 2015 born Limousin with heifer calf to £3000 and a Simmental with Limousin cross bull calf at foot to £2050. Aberdeen Angus crosses sold to £1880 for a third calving cow with heifer calf at foot from Messrs Booth, Hartrigg, Kendal. A British Blue heifer and bull calf from Skirwith Hall Farms, Penrith sold to £2200. First cross Limousin heifers with calves from Messrs Graham, Manor House, Wigton sold to £2100 and £2000 from Messrs Edmondson, High Mansriggs, Ulverston. A small offering of bulling heifers peaked at £1580 for a 16 month old Limousin cross from Messrs Paterson, Low Three Mark, Stranraer.
