Middleton show & Sale of Store Lambs

On Tuesday the 6^th of September Harrison and Hetherington conducted its new sale of store lambs within Middleton and Teesdale market.

An Entry of 1410 were presented to a ringside of buyers making all classes of sheep keenly bid for. A total average of £76.74 was achieved. Before the sale the show took place which was kindly judged by Mr Malcom, Skidmore Billington who awarded the First Prize & Champion pen of Beltex to GP Addison, Hayberries who later sold for £115. Reserve went to the First Prize Mules From Mr Dent, Wythes Hill who later sold for £84. Texels topped at £100 from Dan Humble, Allergill Farm for a strong pen of 10. Brian and Karen Scott Green acres, who sold a run of 300 Texel Cross Lambs to average £78 A note should be said that all the Lambs presented were hill breed lambs and born end of April/May. Swaledales topped at £60 from Nicola and Nigel Foster, Birch Bush. A great days trading was had by all with customers delighted with the days trade.
