Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 21^st September Harrison & Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of calves.  British Blue heifers would be easier on the week with all other classes seeing no change.

Topping todays trade was £475 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower for a strong British Blue calf and £465 was seen today in the Angus section for a tremendous bull calf from Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton.  Messrs Henderson, East Bowhill had a drove of Fleckvieh bulls forward topping at £410. Herefords topped at £405 for a thumper of a bull and Limousins  topped at £460 from Capper Farming.

Angus heifers were up to £385 twice from Connell Farms Ltd and £385 was achieved twice in the Blue section from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower.  Messrs Wilson, Broomberry was up to £380 in the Limousin section.  Calves sold well and more required to meet the high demand.
