Border & Lakeland Holstein Club Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

BANKVIEW TOP WITH A TASTY PIE

The September Border & Lakeland sale was once again packed with phenomenal milking animals many with exceptional pedigrees and the breeders and consignors must be congratulated.  There was a subdued atmosphere around the ring and this was reflected in the trade with the average down on the month and several animals looking value for money.  The sale topped at 3,400gns with milking heifers averaging £2404; 10 animals sold for or more than £3000.

The show was sponsored by Dugdale Nutrition and was judged by Andrew Wilson from Northshields Holsteins near Cupar in Fife.  His overall Champion went to the winning Junior heifer, Espland Apps Alison 2 who was consigned by Alan Cannon from near Appleby.  She was sired by Lindenright Apps and sold for 2,700gns to Mr Roper.
