Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

COLDER WEATHER, HOTTER TRADE

On Tuesday 27^th September Harrison & Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Mart. Well fleshed cattle were a tremendous trade as usual however the lesser end were also a much improved trade on the fortnight.

Heifers topped at £1410 from Messrs Taylor, Little Redhall Farm, which was for a nice 17 month old Limousin. The same home had another at £1300. Bullocks topped at £1340 from Messrs Wright, Hunthills. Messrs Patterson, Hopsrigg topped at £1300 for a Limousin bullock. Aberdeen Angus bullocks topped at £1220 for a single from Messrs Moore, Maxwellbank and then £1220 again for a pen of 10 from Messrs Jardine, Newbigging. British Blue bullocks topped at 280ppk from Messrs Robson, Laverockhall while the same home sold Limousins to 265ppk. Limousin heifers from Messrs Taylor, Little Redhall also sold to 265ppk.
