Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £1860.92 and 239.5p/kg was a pure British Blue cow from Messrs Atkinson, Waitby Farm, Waitby which sold to Owain Llyr, Ruthin.

Messrs Harker, Grayrigg Hall, Kendal sold a 736kg 6 year old pure Limousin cow to make 226p/kg totalling £1663.36.

Limousin cows also from this home sold to 224.5p/kg, £1443.54 for a nine year old cow and £1461.77, 218.5p/kg for an eight year old cow

British Blue cross Black & White OTM heifers sold to 227.5p/kg and £1462.83 from Messrs Beck, Townfoot, Longdale.

All classes of both continental and dairy cows were a flying trade with an overall average of 170.25p/kg and £1087.54 being achieved.
