Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen held their annual crossing Bluefaced Leicester Show and Sale when a catalogued entry of 236 were on offer.
Topping the sale at £10,000 was a Hewgill R20 a Marriforth P1 sired ram lamb out of a Hewgill G49 sired dam from Messrs Lord, West Dowgill, North Stainmore which sold to Messrs Bulman, Northallerton, Messrs Porter, Riddings Farm and Messrs Thornborrow, Easter Dawyck.

Next selling to £3000 was aged ram Kentmere Hall N5 sired by Carry House M26 out of a Low Tipalt G1 sired dam from Messrs Dawson, School Cottage, Kentmere, selling to Messrs Buckle, Bleathgill, Barras.
Messrs Dawson also sold shearling ram Kentmere Hall P6 which was also sired by Carry House M26 and out of Highberries K6 sired dam to make £2800 selling to Messrs Harrison, High Beck Head, Barnard Castle.
Next selling at £2800 was Carry House R36 which was sired by Asby Hall L1 out of a Carry House Jackpot J2 sired dam which was purchased by Messrs Ivinson, Hole House, Ousby.
£2500 was firstly achieved by Messrs Brown, Asby Hall for ram lamb Asby Hall R10 sired by Smearsett M1 selling to Messrs Collingwood, Ambling Gate, Bishop Auckland.
This home also sold ram lamb Asby Hall R11 to £2100 to Messrs Cornall, Bank Farm, Barnacre.
Also achieving £2500 was Great Asby R1 and Greenhow P2 sired ram lamb from Messrs Hayton, Asby Grange selling to Messrs Ivinson, Hole House.
Messrs Lord, West Dowgill sold Hewgill R21 a Marriforth P1 sired lamb selling at £2400 to Messrs Stephenson, The Gables, Ravenstonedale.
Hewgill R22 from this same home sold to £2000 from Messrs Addison, West Stoney Keld, Barnard Castle.
Messrs Archer, Carry House sold Carry House R9 a Carry House Ronaldo P1 sired lamb to £2400 selling to Messrs Clarke, Howgill Castle.
A Midlock Zeus N2 sired shearling from Messrs Wight, Midlock sold to £2400 being purchased by F Brown, Manor Farm, Skipton.
All ages of Leicester rams sold well above vendors expectations with a packed ringside of 85 active buyers being in attendance and trade remaining strong throughout the sale. This ensured Kirkby Bluefaced Leicester crossing sale was once again a resounding success and is a firm fixture in the Bluefaced Leicester sales calendar attracting many quality consignments and buyers alike.
Aged rams averaged £1116.60, Shearling Rams averaged £972.07, Ram lambs averaged £942.16. An overall sale average of £957.12 being achieved for all ages sold with a 95% sale clearance.
46 tups sold between £1000 and £10000.
The pre sale show was judge by Richard Hargreaves, Meadow Bank, Barley who awarded the overall champion to the first prize shearling Midlock P62 from Messrs Wight, Midlock which whent on to sell at £1200 to Messrs Dent, Naby View Farm.

Champion, Catherine Raine for IAnson Bros, Aaron Kirby for Eden Farm Supplies, Consignor Allan Wight and Judge Richard Hargreaves.
The reserve championship was awarded to a Midlock P1 sired lamb from Messrs Pedley, Yore House, Sedbergh selling at £1200 to Messrs Barrass, Beckside, Leyburn.
