Borderway Store & Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 10^th October, Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store and breeding sheep at Borderway.

STORE SHEEP: Store lambs were a good trade with 800 falling under the hammer. Top price came for a Dutch Spotted cross from J Richardson, Carlisle selling for £103. Texels topped at £99 for a pen of 5 from S Bone, Midtown. Mules topped at £72 for a pen of 28 from TW, Wigham & Son, Cold Sheilds. Cheviots topped at £64 for a pen of 10 from DBD & CA Edgar, Ousby.

BREEDING SHEEP:  A good show of 30 rams were presented with top price coming from both T C Jackson, Lockerbie and PM Kidd, Penrith selling Texel shearlings for £400. Many rams sold between £300-£400. Breeding ewes were met with a good trade with top price coming from Armeria UK selling for £200. Shearlings topped at £185 for a pen of 3 Texel’s from the same home.
