Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 12th October Harrison & Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of calves with a strong entry of 357 calves forward. Trade was slightly better with bulls seeing the greatest lift. Top price of the day was £475 for a powerful square British Blue calf from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower. £460 was paid for the top price Limousin from Messrs Graves, Priory Farm. Aberdeen Angus’ sold up to £305 from Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton, Castle Douglas. Black and whites were up to £160 from Messrs Bell, Torpenhow Hall. Charolais sold to £400 from Fluscopike Farms.

Heifer sold to £385 twice for Limousin heifers from Messrs Wright, Risk Farm, Castle Douglas. British Blues were up to £350 from Messrs Vevers, High Plains and Charolais were up to £295 from Fluscopike Farms.
