On Tuesday 12th October at Broughton Mart, Harrison & Hetherington held their annual show and sale of suckled calves.
The Judging was in the capable hands of Mr Matthew Clark, Town Head Farm who placed hid Overall Champion a smart black Limousin cross from NA & J Temple, Blackhall Farm which went on to top the Heifer section at £1080 selling to the judge himself.
Champion bullock was awarded to GJ & CA Penellum, Swinside which went on to sell for £1100. The sale topped at £1160 for a British Blue steer from RD Holland, Low Scales. A great show of well bred calves were presented to a busy ringside of buyers with trade well up on the previous year.
Bullocks averaged £775 with heifers averaging £705.
