Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 19th October Harrison & Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of calves with  another good entry.  2300 calves have been marketed through Borderways weekly sale since the first week in September.

£465 was achieved today on five occasions from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower, Messrs Threlkeld, Ladywells and Fauld Farm Ltd for tremendous British Blue bulls.  Simmental bulls were up to £440 from Gerrard House and £315 from Messrs Ramsey, Gillespie for Montbelairde bulls.  £420 was top price Limousin bull from Messrs Naylor, Hill Green and Messrs Haston, Dearham Hall topped the Black & White section at £185.  Messrs Errington was up to £340 three times with young Hereford bulls and £390 was top price for an Angus bull from Messrs Irving, Becton Hall.

Limousin heifers were up to £400 from Messrs Edgar, Castle Nook and £375 was top price for Blue heifers from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower.  Hereford heifers were up to £345 from Messrs Errington, Sockbridge Hall and Angus Heifers topped at £280 again from Messrs Irving, Becton Hall.
